Well Performance Asset Engineer - Developee (Nationals Only)

N+1: Well Performance Asset (Well Optimization).
N+2: Head of Well Performance.
This position has no direct report.
JOB DIMENSIONS
Current Al Shaheen challenges include to find opportunities and jobs on the wells to improve or restore production/injection potential and also to deal with the existing issues such integrity, etc.
The huge volume of operations makes it necessary to have a person to be in charge of the integration of the opportunities, surveillance requests, and all kind of well operations within the reach of Well Performance Team.
The Well Performance Asset Engineer Developee in charge of the well opportunities will ensure that the opportunity database is up to date, it will lease with offshore and Well Services to define the priority of the interventions. It will also contribute to the generation and update of operational procedures related to wells.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Provide Al Shaheen production optimization & operations experience, direction and guidance to the NOC production & well performance team in order to maximize production and injection performance.
- This position contributes significantly and directly to the field’s ability to meet production budget target through the identification of short term and long-term opportunities to improve production performance and well potential, and ensuring Field Ops team is competent in the optimization of the wells whilst ensuring that wells are operating under their operational envelops.
- The well performance engineer keep the well models up to date and monitor, diagnose and propose solutions and is accountable for the well potential and Locked in Potential.
- The position is accountable for the continuous well diagnostics and the lease with reservoir and well services teams in order to propose actions and solutions.
- The position is in front line on the start-up, clean up and performance evaluation of the new wells.
- In charge of the well opportunities will ensure that the opportunity database is up to date, it will lease with offshore and Well Services to define the priority of the interventions.
ACTIVITIES
HSE:
- Maintain and improve the safety culture by driving the operation and workplace activities in Incident Free environment.
- Keep Monitoring the integrity of the wells and report any activities violating the safe operation envelope of the wells
- Participate on the Risk Assessments for wells with integrity issues.
Activities:
- Assist in detailed production and injection performance analysis and recommend optimization actions. Participate in updating the simulation models (GAP/Prosper) and match them to actual performance
- Help identify surveillance and optimization opportunities to increase or restore well potential, using platform-based activities (wireline, electric line and coiled tubing ... etc).
- Maintaining metering and well test data flow assurance and contribute to the review of production data validation, allocation and reporting.
- Participate in writing operational producers to support Offshore operating wells safely and within operating envelopes.
- Actively participate in daily communication and coordination between offshore and onshore business pertaining to key business matters and sharing of knowledge and experience.
- Contribute to shortfalls identification by analyzing well production/injection.
- Recommend interventions and workovers to maintain production capabilities and maximize asset production.
- Participate in implementation of well performance techniques to maximize oil production and minimize shortfalls by utilizing models and other resources.
- Participate in setting well performance daily/weekly/monthly requirements in terms of well testing, gas lift optimization, fall off tests and water injection bean up.
- Rotate at different entities outside PWP to fulfill the development program.
- Participate in internal and external communication within the Field Operation.
- Prepare presentation to the teams and within PWP department.
- Cost optimization and avoidance to ensure best utilization for the company operation budget and resources
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Degree: Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Petroleum, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Keen interest in the oil and gas environment
- Good knowledge in Reservoir Engineering and/or Production technology
- Good interpersonal skills – ability to communicate effectively with site personnel, peers and management.
- Ability to work under pressure and stressing conditions
- Fluent in English. French is a plus.
- Ability to work in a multi-nationality and consequently multicultural environment
- Only fresh graduates with no working experience will be considered for this role
