CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT


Working on a rotational basis, 4 weeks on/4 weeks off, the Senior Well Operations Engineer (OC) is the key interface between the Offshore Production teams and the onshore Wells, Well Services and Maintenance support teams. He/She also may be required to stand-in offshore for the Production Supervisor as required

This position is based on a rotational scheme
 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • Acting as the Focal Point in the NOC Operational Centre regarding all Well testing, monitoring, optimization and Well Integrity management activities.
  • Provide support and development for Offshore Production personnel including OTL, Production Supervisor and CROs.
  • Supporting offshore sites in the safe and efficient execution of all production operations and well maintenance/repair activities in order to maximize production volumes.
  • Monitoring production and injection wells to ensure all well operations are carried out within agreed parameters and identify potential for formation damage/fracture during normal operations

 

ACTIVITIES


HSE

 

  • Identify and report well integrity issues.
  • Monitoring and feedback on wells approaching end of operational grace period.
  • Participating in DGS/JSA processes to provide an independent operational perspective to offshore management.

 

Main Activities 

 

  • Focal Point in the NOC Operational Centre for all well activity in the field
  • Well network optimizing and troubleshooting 
  • Monitoring gas lift setpoints to minimize slugging activity and to optimize Compression capacities.
  • Monitoring Injection wells to maximize voidage replacement across the field 
  • Provide feedback during operational downtime to maximize production rates while reducing flare.
  • Following up and Optimizing the Site Production Performance by actively participating in the shortfall prevention / analyses, shutdown preparation / minimization and monitoring plant KPI
  • Identifying opportunities for backflushing/acidizing underperforming wells to increase performance
  • Interface with Offshore Operations with regards to well improvement, Planning and Isolation review
  • Liaising between Offshore operations and T3 relating to well test program and any changes in order to maximize well production and providing correct data.
  • Ensure well integrity follow-up with Well Services and monitor maintenance and valve testing activities.
  • Participate as required with investigations into unplanned shutdown and participate in RCA process to reduce ongoing losses and eliminate repeated shortfall events 
  • Offshore visits as required for inspections, training and familiarization.

Education

Master’s (preferred) or Degree qualified

Experience

  • Industry: Exposure to production or process engineering, preferably offshore 
  • Operations: 10 years Operational Experience in Production environment with a minimum 2 years Offshore working experience
  • Well-developed analysis and reporting skills 
  • Valid Offshore Survival & Medical - for adhoc visits
