SITUATION IN ORGANIZATION

 

Reports to:  Production Supervisor

Working Environment: Offshore

Degree of Risk of physical or mental injury: Medium       

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

  • To monitor offshore oil and gas production facilities, utility and life support systems via computer-based SCADA, ESD, F&G control and safeguarding systems under minimal supervision in accordance with NOC approved operating procedures, guidelines, legislative requirement and industry best practice.

 

JOB DIMENSIONS

 

1-People Management:

  • Monitor all parameters of the unit and enter periodic readings on log sheets; summarize all activities/events and assist in preparing a detailed and accurate shift activity log for shift handover.
  • Ensure production routine tasks in a safe and timely manner and prepare production reports on the same.
  • Encourage and foster process safety awareness related to own discipline.
  • Provide guidance on discipline specific company standards, procedures and guidelines.
  • Guide and support to junior staff in the execution of their day-to- day responsibilities and help create a learning environment. Uphold the role-model NOC values and leadership behaviors.
  • Provide support as necessary to Qatari employees to assist them
    in achieving recognized qualifications.

 

2- Stakeholder Relations

  •     Actively participate in daily communications and coordination between "Oneshore" businesses pertaining to key business matters and sharing of knowledge and experience.
  •     Establish and maintain effective relationships with external parties required to meet NOC's business and operational objectives.
  •     Participate and support Contractor/Vendor performance management through Contract Owner.
  • Represent NOC appropriately and in accordance with core values when interfacing with stakeholders.
  • Proactively take responsibility for self-progression by keeping abreast with latest developments, knowledge and innovations in relevant field of expertise.
  • Any other ad-hoc tasks as directed by manager.

4 – Financial Responsibility

  • Exhibit financial prudence in all decisions.
  • Ensure effective and efficient scheduling of work is in place to enhance safety, minimize process equipment downtime and operational costs.

 

5 – Health, Safety & Environment

  • Drive an incident free environment through establishing and maintaining a strong safety culture.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with HSE(occupational and process)legislation, Company standards and procedures under area of responsibility to ensure employee safety, legislative compliance and a responsible environment attitude.
  • Ensure compliance with Operating Procedures and Guidelines within the Asset to ensure Process Safety, Operational Safety and Plant Integrity.

 

6- Strategic Planning & Direction

  • Identify opportunities and champion initiatives that enable maximum production and injection output within the parameters of environmental compliance and process safety.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

 

1 - Knowledge / Technical Skills

  • English Language to a level that satisfies the standards of the Safety English Test (SET) — to be completed before initial mobilization.
  • Technical and practical knowledge of PPE
  • Thorough Understanding of personnel Safety
  • Working knowledge of process and utility equipment in the oil and gas industry
  • Thorough understanding and use of P&ID and C&E drawings and how isolation plans are developed.
  • Basic understanding of instrumentation and control equipment principles, and fault diagnosis of same

 

2 – Education / Certifications

  • High School Diploma / Technical certificate in Discipline.
  • TBOSIET
  • H2S
  • Fitness for Work (offshore) Certificate
  • Minimum 4 years recent experience in the petrochemical, refining, oil /gas exploration and/or production industries in a similar role.
  • Recent Experience of modern electronic instrumentation and digital control systems (Siemens and ABB)
