Satellite Supervisor
Job Purpose
CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT
- The Satellite Supervisor is responsible for providing production and first level maintenance support for base operations. The Satellite supervisor supports the OTL in all matters related to managing the day-to-day priorities and ensuring safe delivery of business priorities.
- Satellites H&I are located approximately 80km NE of Qatar in the Arabian Gulf in an offshore environment with imposing limitations to work delivery.
- The satellites are supported by in-field vessels with transfer systems installed. Whilst H has a small accommodation, all meals are provided by the vessels, and crew may be expected to be accommodated on the support vessels when off -shift. I Location has no accommodation and hence all personnel are accommodated on the support vessels. Crew change is completed by vessel transfer to main complex (usually B Location) and then Helicopter transfer to Doha.
- The position is offshore based on a rotational scheme.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Leading a team of up to 6 people: technicians, crane operator(s) & trainee(s) to support the safe delivery of production volumes.
- Providing production-related field support activities for campaign and base operations.
- Acting as Offshore Emergency Response Team Leader in the event of an incident to ensure minimal harm to personnel, environment (including Oil Spill Response) and assets.
- In cases where OTL is not present on site, acting as the On-Scene Commander in the event of an Emergency Response.
- Contributing to the development and review of all risk assessments to ensure that hazards have been identified, adequate mitigations are in place and risk has been reduced to ALARP.
ACTIVITIES
- Ensure safe delivery of core business through active management of Base Operations routine, Level 1 Maintenance tasks and core operational activities while also integrating the execution of Campaign and Project activities.
- Act as the Permit Controller to ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the Permit to Work process and company requirements.
- Act as an Isolating Authority to ensure that all isolations are designed, implemented, removed and managed as per Company Policy and Industry Best Practice.
- Acts as the Operating Authority delegate.
- Provide the OTL with analysis and comment on production volumes, opportunities and risks in order to improve business performance and reduce risk.
- Prepare Permit to Work packs to ensure all hazards have been identified, risks have been mitigated and there are no conflicting activities.
- Participate in satellite Daily Permit Meeting to ensure strict compliance with company requirements and safe execution of all platform work activities.
- Consult the 5-week IOP plan on regular basis to ensure isolations are proactively prepared and to identify alignment of works to optimize equipment outages.
- Provide visible leadership, direction, coaching and support to team members to ensure production targets are met and production / reinjection volumes are maximized. Maintain high levels of housekeeping, in particular prior to demanning of asset so that oncoming teams can commence work in a safe manner.
- Motivate and inspire staff in the execution of their responsibilities to drive a performance culture and encourage innovative thinking around process safety and production optimization.
- Perform internal audits of risk management systems to drive compliance and continuous improvements.
- Support the OTL in the implementation of relevant company policies, standards and processes to ensure employee safety and comply with legislative requirements.
- Represent NOC appropriately and in accordance with code of ethics when interfacing with internal and external stakeholders.
- Promote NOC core values by being a safety role model, showing trust, respect and commitment, fostering collaboration across the organization.
- Promote cost consciousness across entire network of stakeholders to embed a strong cost culture.
Safety and Compliance
- Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture and ensure all activities comply with NOC standards and Life Saving rules.
- Conduct toolbox talks (TBT), safety observations (DTSI), and participate in risk assessments and permit to work reviews for process operations and SIMOPS (eCoW). Encourage and empower IF+ Champions within the department to speak up, raise HSE related concerns and improvement opportunities related to the safety of the site and the team.
- Ensure proper isolation, flushing, and depressurization procedures are followed during maintenance or project interventions, maintain high environmental and process safety standards, including spill prevention, flare management, and produced water discharge & re-injection compliance.
- As a key member of the Emergency Response team, maintain a state of readiness to respond to any situation in line with NOC Incident response and management procedures.

- Management of Major Emergencies.
- Offshore Emergency Response Team Leader.
- Advanced First Aid.
- Basic Cause Tree Analysis.
- Oil Spill Principles and Management Level 1.
- Must have all industry standard pre-requisite certifications to allow travel offshore (Medical, BOSIET etc).
Experience
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in O&G production operations.
- Supervisory Experience: Experience of leading others desirable (Lead Tech or Equivalent).
- Management of Emergencies / Crisis Situations: Experience as part of wider response team desirable
