CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT 

  • NOC operates Al Shaheen Oil Field (ALS) which produces 300,000 bopd from several complex reservoirs through more than four hundred wells and thirty-eight platforms. 
  • New capital projects are continuously adding new platforms and wells to existing facilities, some of which are already 25 years old. 
  • The operation of these facilities requires complex telecoms and control systems to sustain the desired high availability and reliability.
  • The company relies increasingly on advanced Digital and Business solutions to extend its operations beyond 2042, in the most cost-effective way.

ACCOUNTABILITIES 
Purpose of the role: 

The Enterprise Architecture (EA) Project Engineer plays a pivotal role in supporting the Enterprise Architecture function by driving cross-functional initiatives and ensuring consistent adoption of architecture principles, governance frameworks, and EA-led projects. 

This role acts as a critical bridge between architecture strategy and project execution, working closely with DBS and business stakeholders to deliver architecture-aligned outcomes. 

The position requires deep technical expertise across cloud technologies, integration, infrastructure, and cybersecurity domains, with the ability to assess solutions, identify technical risks, and enforce compliance with enterprise standards. 

  • Drive cross-functional enterprise architecture initiatives and projects, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and strategic objectives. 
  • Support the ongoing development and maturity of the enterprise architecture function within North Oil Company, contributing to capability building and process improvement. 
  • Evaluate DBS-led projects and initiatives to identify architectural, security, and compliance risks; propose mitigation strategies and ensure alignment with architecture principles. 
  • Translate DBS strategies into actionable target architecture models, technology roadmaps, and solution blueprints that guide implementation and delivery. 
  • Actively participate in Design Authority sessions and Architecture Review Boards (ARBs) to ensure solutions meet architectural, security, and compliance requirements. 
  • Collaborate with architects, subject matter experts (SMEs), and business units to ensure architecture-led delivery of key initiatives and projects. 
     

ACTIVITIES 

  • Drive the design and delivery of cross-functional projects with strong technical ownership, ensuring architecture alignment, scalability, and compliance throughout the lifecycle. 
  • Serve as the central liaison between Enterprise Architecture, infrastructure, cloud security and application teams to ensure consistent solution execution. 
  • Break down high-level target architecture and design principles into deliverable project tasks, technical backlogs, and implementation roadmaps. 
  • Contribute and coordinate Architecture Review Board activities by ensuring timely submission of design documents, stakeholder inputs and governance compliance. 
  • Review solution designs across platforms and integrations, identify risks or misalignments with enterprise standards, and lead remediation planning. 
  • Manage stakeholder communication by providing regular updates to EA, PMO and SMEs on technical progress, risks, and design decisions. 
  • Contribute to rollout or enhancements of enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow, Data Platforms, integration layers and related processes. 
  • Maintain project documentation and technical artifacts.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or equivalent work experience.
  • Expertise in cloud especially in azure and cloud native technologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of various IT applications and IT infrastructure technologies. 
  • Knowledge of integration architecture, Data platforms and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture, and TOGAF framework. 
  • Strong relationship and negotiation capability 
  • Excellent communication and people skills. 
  • Strong English proficiency both spoken and written

Certification

Relevant certifications related to Cloud, EA, Project management. 

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in IT and at least 3 years in technically leading large-scale projects.
  • Work experience in an Oil & Gas company is a plus.
