JOB DIMENSIONS
The Production Advancement Engineer I will be required to support the Production Advancement team to achieve its responsibilities within the NOC organisation. The Engineer will interact with various engineering disciplines to eradicate or manage unplanned shutdowns. The Production Advancement Team liaises with numerous departments and supports the development of inter-department relationships.
With the number of RCA investigation cases per year spanning a spectrum of various engineering topics the Production Advancement is key to resolving challenges across the field. The team manages RCA cases of three categories namely Levels 1, 2 and 3 with Level 3 cases being complex cases with high barrel losses.
Part of the activity of the Production Advancement Team is to review and validate daily unplanned shortfalls in coordination with Production Engineers located in the NOC Operations Center (OC).
ACCOUNTABILITIES
The Production Advancement Engineer I is responsible for supporting the Production Advancement team in achieving its day-to-day operational objectives through provision of administration, data analysis and RCA investigations.
The role shall collaborate with the team to drive root cause analysis and eliminate the losses in accordance with North Oil company (NOC) approved operating procedures and guideline.
The role contributes to the capture of shortfall events and validation to ensure to ensure accuracy of overall production data.
ACTIVITIES
HSE:
- Drive incident free environment by maintaining a strong safety culture.
- Contributes to field asset integrity by reporting any anomaly observed in the daily links with offshore Ensure that the facilities are operated as per their agreed operational envelopes
Activities:
- Support the Production Advancement main objective to drive production performance by eliminating/reducing shortfalls
- Conduct and support unplanned shutdown investigations by gathering information from site and analyzing.
- Utilise engineering skills to determine root cause to avoid recurrence
- Formulate recommendations as part of RCA investigations for mitigation/elimination
- Follow-up on RCA actions and solution effectiveness monitoring with various entities
- Carry out extended start-up analysis for new events when applicable, to improve uptime across the field
- Perform analysis for bad actor data and distribute to relevant stakeholders
- Capture and validate daily shortfall events to ensure consistency in conjunction with OC
- Assist with the daily production & injection shortfalls analysis
- Support the management of residual mismatch to ensure it is practicably low and all shortfall events are established
- Assist with data gathering for various business entities requiring shortfall data for varying objectives
- Collate and review information/data required to generate regular management reports (e.g. bi-weekly QE reports etc)
- Support with any requisites for the quarterly production tests when applicable, PPG and any other Production Advancement deliverables
- Contribute to the team organisational aspects, including meeting rhythm, reporting scheme, tasks sharing, and work efficiency
CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT
The role is based onshore on a residential basis – notionally working a 5day week.
Visits to offshore locations will be required on an ad-hoc basis.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical engineering or related engineering discipline
- Valid BOSIET / HUET and other mandatory Oil and Gas Basic HSE training
- Over 7 years’ experience in a production / offshore environment
- Significant exposure to production or process engineering
- Active continual professional development profile.
- Clear understanding of offshore Site operations and equipment
- Knowledge on process design of offshore topside facilities
- Highly developed analytical skills, high attention to details, reporting and synthesis skills.
- Interpersonal skills, team spirit with cross functional work ability.
