Marine Supervisor
Job Purpose
The purpose of the role is to supervise and monitor Marine Operations carried out by and on behalf of the company, to ensure they are in line with international codes, classification society, flag state, local regulations, and company procedures.
The job holder shall contribute and participate in the application of a robust marine crew, watercraft & contractor vetting and monitoring program to reduce the company’s exposure to major marine risk during it’s operational activity.
JOB DIMENSIONS:
The role requires a high level of proactivity and organizational skills and a high understanding of marine operations to ensure the departments’ activities are fully supported, documented, and safely delivered.
- Number of Vessels Supported: 8+
- Number of Contracts Supported: 8+
- Number of Vessels Audited: 16+ (annually)
- Number of Call for Tender: 5+ (annually)
Key Accountabilities
HSE
- Demonstrate an Incident Free attitude through establishing and maintaining a strong safety culture.
- Ensure all activities carried out under the supervision of the role comply with the companies HSE policy.
- Propose & monitor strategies and technology to support the companies GHG reduction targets.
- Support Marine Incident Investigations and reporting processes, ensuing identification of root causes and capturing of lessons learned.
Financial
- Demonstrate a cost focus culture to ensure sustainable value is delivered.
- Demonstrate cost efficiency within the area of responsibility.
Operations
- Support the Lead, Marine Operations in the creation and review of company CMS standards and guidelines.
- Support and encourage the development of local talent, ensuring development plans are followed, experience and knowledge shared.
- Support resolution orientated communication and strategic connection among critical stakeholders to implement solutions in a timely manner.
- Ensure CMS rules, standards, policies, and guidelines covering marine crew and watercraft are applied and monitored in accordance with international regulations and standards, classification society, flag state, local regulations, and company procedures.
- Maintain a robust marine vetting and assurance program, ensuring company charter vessels and crew are in full compliance with international regulations and standards, classification society, flag state, local regulations and company procedures.
- Support contract management, ensure vessels and owners are in full compliance with procedural and contractual requirements.
- Support operational changes, delivering solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Ensure the N+1 & N+2 are routinely provided with highlights, concerns and trends related to company marine activity.
- Support project teams and key stakeholders with knowledge of operational standards, safety protocols and best practices in support of their marine operations.
- Participate in industry forums related to marine operations.
- Support the role of Marine Supervisor (JUB) during periods of sickness, and operational need.
- Maintain a robust marine vetting and assurance program, ensuring company charter vessels and crew are in full compliance with international regulations and standards, classification society, flag state, local regulations and company procedures.
- Support contract management, ensure vessels and owners are in full compliance with procedural and contractual requirements.

Work Schedule
The role is based offshore, onboard company charter watercraft on a 28/28 rotational basis.
Requirement for occasional assignment onshore in companies Doha office.
Competencies
Education
Master Mariner, Chief Engineer, Marine Warranty Surveyor, Merchant Naval Officer / Engineer, or Degree Equivalent
Experience
- 8 years of marine & offshore installation experience with 2+ years at a Senior level.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of DP systems, operations, trials and standards.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of marine operations in support of offshore oil and gas activity
- Good knowledge of international maritime regulations, standards, and codes
- Experienced in carrying our marine assurance and technical writing
