Job Purpose

The purpose of the role is to ensure all manned and unmanned subsea operations carried out by the company are in line with international codes, classification society, flag state, local regulations, and company procedures. To create and deliver robust personnel, equipment & contractor vetting and monitoring program to reduce the company’s exposure to major risk during all subsea activity.

The role requires a high level of proactivity and organizational skills and a strong understanding of underwater operations to ensure the departments activities are fully supported, documented, and safely delivered. Although guided by policies and procedures, the role requires a strong level of communication and problem solving.

  • Number of Vessels Supported: 1+
  • Number of Contracts Supported: 2+
  • Number of People Supervised: Direct 1 / Indirect 25+ offshore contractors
  • Number of Audits: 10+ (annually) 

Key Accountabilities

HSE

  •  Install an Incident Free environment through establishing and maintaining a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure all activities carried out under the supervision of the role comply with the companies HSE policy.
  • Propose, implement, and monitor strategies and technology to support the companies GHG reduction targets.
  • Lead Subsea related Incident Investigations and reporting processes, ensuing identification of root causes and capturing of lessons learned. 

Financial

  • Support the Head, Marine & Subsea in budget management and forecasting to maintain expenditure within approved business plans.
  • Install a cost focus culture to ensure sustainable value is delivered.
  • Promote the improvement of cost efficiency within the area of responsibility. 

Key Accountabilities

Operations

  • Fulfil the role of company Subsea TRP, supporting key stakeholders, setting company standards and approval of technical deviations. 
  • Facilitate resolution orientated communication and strategic connection among critical stakeholders to identify and implement solutions in a timely manner.
  • Deliver a level of subsea operations competency to support the activity defined in the Logistics Charter. 
  • Ensure CMS rules, standards, policies, and guidelines covering subsea personnel, equipment and operations are in place, applied and monitored in accordance with international regulations and standards, classification society, flag state, local regulations, company procedures & industry best practices. 
  • Implement and monitor a robust vetting and assurance program, ensuring all personnel and subsea equipment mobilised for / by the company are in full compliance with international regulations and standards, classification society, flag state, local regulations, company procedures & industry best practices. 
  • Through effective contract management, ensure all contractors are in full compliance with procedural and contractual requirements.  Ensure the duet is supported in all call for tenders, supporting the creation of technical requirements and technical evaluations. 
  • Support operational changes, delivering solutions to improve efficiency and reliability. 
  • Develop and present KPI’s covering equipment and contractor performance against contractual requirements. 
  • Ensure the N+1 is routinely provided with highlights, concerns and trends. 
  • Ensure project teams and key stakeholders are supported with technical support, knowledge of operational standards, safety protocols and best practices in support of subsea operations and chartering activity. 
  • Represent the company at industry forums related to manned and unmanned subsea operations. All staff must be willing to participate in crisis response training and to assist during emergency response situations if required 

Key Accountabilities

CONTEXT AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The role is based onshore at companies Doha head office on a residential basis.
  • Requirement for frequent offshore and international travel

Education

Minimum Qualifications & Experience 

 IMCA Air & Bell Diving Supervisor 

Certification

Experience

Experince

  • 10 years of operational experience in manned and unmanned subsea operations in support of Oil & Gas industry
  • 5 years’ experience as a Diving Supervisor, Superintendent or Construction Manger
  • Experienced in conducting IMCA design and client audits 
  • Expert knowledge of industry guidance & best practice (IMCA / IOGP / DMAC / IMO /
  • Experienced in delivering and monitoring assurance and competency processes.
