Lead, Performance Improvement, Knowledge and Compliance
Job Purpose
- Leads 3 engineers (Performance, CMS, Digital) and a 24/7 RTSC team of 7 operators. Influences ~100 D&W personnel through performance frameworks, digital systems, and compliance processes. Acts as focal point for performance analytics, CMS governance, and capability development across the D&W entity.
- Operates within a complex, high‑activity offshore field and a multi‑stakeholder environment with rigorous HSE, performance, quality and regulatory expectations.
- Requires close collaboration with internal entities and multiple service companies/OEMs, while leveraging digital systems to standardize, simplify and accelerate well delivery.
- Works in the RTSC/RTOC – embedded with the operations and monitoring teams.
Key Accountabilities
This role drives operational excellence by defining and embedding performance frameworks, managing the Real-Time Support/Operations Center (RTSC/RTOC), governing digital solutions and data quality, maintaining the Company Management System (CMS) and deviation processes, promoting sustainability initiatives, and building organizational capability. The position ensures that wells are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with NOC’s strategic objectives. The position is accountable for:
- Performance Management — Responsible for defining and monitoring D&W performance frameworks and KPIs; lead optimization initiatives and performance deep-dives.
- RTSC Management / RTOC Transformation & Orchestration — Responsible for the 24/7 RTSC operating model and workflows; coordinate risk prevention and decision support for critical operations. Lead the evolution of the 24/7 RTSC into a value-focused RTOC with standardized tiered surveillance, predictive monitoring, intervention scenarios, and decision-rights. Establish end-to-end workflows that connect offset learning, real-time surveillance, and after-action learning loops to deliver measurable HSE and performance gains.
- Integrated Well Planning & Operations Coordination — Serve as the embedded orchestrator across Engineering & Operations, ensuring seamless plan-to-execute integration (Basis of Design → Drilling Program → Daily Execution). Align planning deliverables, readiness checks, and real-time execution controls so that changes are governed, risk is proactively managed, and value outcomes are tracked.
- Digital Enablement & Data Governance — Coordinate development of digital solutions and dashboards; govern data quality and access across WellView, Madmoun, SmartDB, RTSC, and SAP/S4HANA.
- CMS & Deviation Control — Responsible for the D&W CMS documentation lifecycle; operate deviation workflows end-to-end to ensure compliance and timely closure.
- Sustainability Integration — Promote and coordinate D&W contributions to NOC’s GHG roadmap and embed sustainability levers into plans and programs.
- Knowledge & Capability — Responsible for knowledge capture and dissemination; coordinate training and competency development; promote Incident Free culture.
- Stakeholder & Change Leadership — Coordinate cross-entity alignment and lead adoption of new processes, systems, and digital tools.
- Planning, Budget & Reporting — Coordinate annual budget inputs and in-year tracking for D&W; provide transparent reporting to leadership.
Activities
1. Performance Management
- Define KPI tree and targets for D&W performance (NPT, ROP/flat times, connection/tripping, rig/crew benchmarks).
- Maintain performance dashboards and ensure consistent time and activity coding for reliable analytics.
2. RTSC Management / RTOC Transformation & Orchestration
- Maintain RTSC data flows, alerting rules, and visualization; ensure operator competency and continuous improvement.
- Define the RTOC operating model (surveillance tiers, alarm logic, and escalation trees) and decision rights for operational interventions; maintain 24/7 coverage with clear handoffs to rigs and engineering.
- Implement predictive monitoring and anomaly detection for drilling dysfunctions, pressures, wellbore stability, equipment condition, and barrier integrity; maintain libraries of standard responses and “playbooks” for rapid, consistent action.
- Facilitate RTOC Daily Ops Huddles and pre job risk reviews for critical operations; ensure learnings are fed back into programs, standards, and training.
- Own real time data quality and latency standards; govern integration across WellView, Madmoun, SmartDB/knowledge stores, RT feeds, Power BI dashboards, and SAP/S4HANA for traceable decisions and value capture.
- Measure intervention efficacy (time to detect, time to intervene, NPT avoided, flat time reductions) and report realized value in monthly/quarterly performance reviews.
3. Integrated Well Planning & Operations Coordination
- Act as the central orchestrator between D&W entities to ensure seamless plan-to-execution integration
- Align internal stakeholders on well objectives, design deliverables, and operational readiness gates before execution.
- Lead readiness reviews to confirm that complex/high-risk wells are fully prepared, risk-assessed, and compliance requirements are met prior to spud.
- Ensure that risk registers, contingency plans, and deviation workflows are in place and validated before operations commence.
- Drive structured communication routines (e.g., readiness reviews, risk workshops) to maintain transparency and accountability across all stakeholders.
4. Digital Enablement & Data Governance
- Coordinate design and adoption of dashboards, workflows, and knowledge/AI tools; manage demand and prioritization.
- Govern data quality and access across WellView, Madmoun, SmartDB, RTSC, PowerBI and SAP/S4HANA; enforce common data standards.
- Sponsor automation and analytics improvements to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
5. CMS & Deviation Control
- Plan and execute the annual CMS document program; coordinate drafting, reviews, approvals, and timely publication.
- Operate deviation control workflows (initiation, risk assessment, routing, approval, closure) in compliance with corporate standards.
- Provide CMS and deviation status reporting and support audits with evidence.
6. Sustainability Integration
- Coordinate D&W contributions to the GHG roadmap (fuel efficiency, awareness initiatives).
- Integrate sustainability levers into operational plans and performance frameworks.
- Provide D&W sustainability metrics and insights for corporate reporting cycles.
7. Knowledge & Capability
